Registration Schedule Intertraffic North America 2007

The onsite registration desk for both attendees and exhibitors is located in the Main Lobby of the Broward County Convention Center and will be open on the following hours:

Conference programme

As you know from our world-famous brand, Intertraffic brings together all the various traffic sectors under one roof. Our conference program is no exception! Attendees at Intertraffic North America 2007 will have the opportunity to get the most out of their experience by participating in one of the many conferences that will be held in conjunction with the show. 2007 ARTBA National Convention

The 2007 ARTBA National Convention will be held in conjunction with Intertraffic North America 2007 on October 9-12, including a joint reception and some meal functions and speakers in the exhibit hall. Other ARTBA conference highlights will include:
  • Transportation construction industry sector-specific meetings for contractors, planning and design executives, financiers, manufacturers and suppliers, educators and researchers, public officials and traffic safety firms
  • Annual industry awards programs
  • Economic reports and industry updates
  • Legislative and policy strategy sessions

National Traffic Management & Work Zone Safety Conference

The ‘National Traffic Management & Work Zone Safety Conference' will be a 'must attend event' for safety professionals during 2007. And it is being held at Intertraffic North America 2007 on October 9-12! This special conference is being organized by the National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse, in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and the American Road & Transportation Builders Association’s Transportation Development Foundation-talk about heavyweight backing! The conference sessions will be held in the Convention Center, with some scheduled general session speakers and meals on the exhibit floor. Conference topics will include:
  • Accommodating Traffic During Night Work
  • Separation Between Workers and Traffic
  • ITS Applications to Keep Traffic Moving
  • Incident Management and Temporary Traffic Control
  • Automated Enforcement and Variable Speed Limits
  • New Work Zone Safety Training Programs
  • Best Practices in Conducting a Roadway Safety Audit


Park Across America

Intertraffic North America 2007 is pleased to announce that Parking Today - the preeminent parking magazine in the world - will offer 'Park across America', a new program of regional events connected by audio and video. 'Park across America' will hold a day-long seminar on October 11 in conjunction with Intertraffic North America 2007. It will feature the latest topics and trends and is a 'must attend' event within the parking industry.



IRF Latin America Regional Conference

Intertraffic North America 2007 is excited to partner with the International Road Federation (IRF) as it hosts its Latin American Regional Conference on October 9-11. The IRF, which actively promotes roadway development and economic progress world-wide, will focus its Latin American Regional Conference on roadway safety issues. Roadway experts from South America, Central America and the Caribbean will meet to share experiences and to learn from each other. A series of roadway safety topics will be presented in Spanish (with English translation) in the workshops. These topics are tentatively scheduled to include:
  • Roadway safety Hardware
  • International Best Practices for roadside safety
  • Effective means to influence motorist Behavior



NEW Focus on Safety: A practical look at automated traffic enforcement

Friday, October 12, 2007, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. This one-day symposium will provide participants an overview of traffic safety applications of photo enforcement, including work zone speed enforcement, with special emphasis on what makes programs successful. We will also highlight efforts to bring photo enforcement to the State of Florida and prospects for new enabling legislation.

Who should attend: State and local officials, traffic engineers, safety and risk managers, public information officers, law enforcement officials, and concerned citizens.

Workshop on Road, Pedestrian & Bicycle Safety &
Put the Brakes on Fatalities Day

The Transportation and Development Institute of ASCE (T&DI) workshop on Road, Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety is being held on October 10, 2007 during Intertraffic North America 2007 at the Ft. Lauderdale - Broward County Convention Center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. October 10 is also the 7th Put the Brakes on Fatalities Day a national program designed to have transportation professionals educate the public on how their driving actions have a direct impact on the number of annual fatalities in the US.

This workshop is targeted toward transportation engineers and planners interested in roadway, work zone, bicycle and pedestrian safety; planning and design of bicycle and multi-user trails, and accommodation of pedestrians in the right-of-way. The workshop will also have a session devoted to the Put the Brakes on Fatalities program. Presenters at the workshop include professionals from FHWA, academia and the private sector.

Workshop topics will include:
  • Planning and Design of Bicycle and Multi-Use Trails
  • Accommodating Pedestrians in the Right-of-Way
  • Ramp and Work Zone Safety
  • Mapping Pedestrian/Bicycle Crashes and Planning Pedestrian/Bicycle Safety Programs
  • Putting the Brakes on Fatalities Program

Additional Partnerships, Commitments & Endorsements

Intertraffic North America 2007 has been endorsed by one of the nation’s largest state construction associations and a strong ARTBA affiliate, the Florida Transportation Builders Association (FTBA). The FTBA is working with ARTBA to bring major players in the Florida transportation infrastructure and traffic management markets to the show. Intertraffic North America 2007 has also been endorsed by Better Roads magazine, Roads & Bridges magazine, Transportation Builder, Arquitectura and 4 regional magazines under the Associated Construction Publications umbrella. All of these fine trade publications will be providing advertising promotion and editorial support for Intertraffic North America 2007 and the national Conferences described above. Also, participating will be the National Association of County Engineers and the National Utility Contractors Association. Negotiations will continue to bring in additional partnerships, commitments and endorsements for this show.
